Reason for the Season

‘Twas the Friday before Christmas and all through the house… so it’s technically the eve of Christmas Eve right? lol… is anybody else on a Christmas is coming high?!? (I know it aint just me ;-)) Well guess what girlfriends? It is coming in just 2 more days!! What a wonderful time to be alive and amongst the living to give honor to Jesus Christ! I just wanted to leave you with a few scriptures to remind us all of why we celebrate Christmas, better yet of why we celebrate Jesus – the reason for the season.

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:23

*Jesus was born so that God could be with you and me

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17

*Christmas lights should be a reminder that God is the Father of lights and that every good and perfect gift comes from Him

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 1 Peter 3:15

*Not everyone we see knows the true reason for the season, a lot of people get caught up in the commercial driven hype of Christmas, but it is our responsibility to tell them about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

Well ladies that’s all I want to share with you and I pray that those 3 scriptures touched your hearts.

Let us pray… God I thank you for another opportunity to sow into the life of the person reading this, I pray that I may draw just one person closer to you. I pray that none of us will get caught up in the hype of Christmas and steer away from Jesus. That we would NOT fall victim of over spending to give gifts to our families and friends. I pray that none of us will experience grief, depression, anxiety, nor debt this season. And that we all will remember the precious gift of LOVE. It is in your precious son’s Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN.

God bless you all and have a very Merry CHRISTmas!

Joy for Your Day,

“Life……..interrupted”

plans

Happy Wednesday Ladies! As we live from day-to-day, we often find ourselves planning to be more efficient. Especially us ladies, as little girls we thought about or planned to the “T” specific events or milestones and then life was interrupted; well interrupted by God. Sometimes in life with all of our planning we begin to operate out of the will of God and make decisions that are comfortable, stagnant or even the complete opposite of where God see’s us. When this occurs, God tends to interrupt our plans for the betterment of our future. Only He has the ability to see the danger, the wasted time, the ripple effect it has on our families when we plan outside of God. A lot of times when God interrupts our plans we can get frustrated and discouraged, but always remember He has your back and trust that wherever you were heading doesn’t compare to what awaits where God is taking you.

“The Right Heart”

It’s Wednesday ladies and I found that I recently had an issue accessing my email. I’m not sure if I typed the wrong key when I first created the password, or if I just can’t simply remember. Then I thought, has my account been hacked? I ended up becoming frustrated, and made sure I took the proper security measures for everything that I could, my home, car, emails, the kids things and work stuff. Notice the things I mentioned………no where did I mention my heart. Is my heart not just as valuable, if not more than the things I make an effort in guarding? A few weeks ago I read a devotional from Wisdom Hunters about this very thing. The scripture was:

heart

Lets emphasize the EVERYTHING part; everything we do flows from our heart. Think about your hearts’ current state, is it healthy? Not just from a medical or physiology stand point, but from a spiritual aspect. Is it filled with the Holy Spirit, does the fruits of the spirit dwell there? After all, this is the very place our hopes and dreams come from, yet the place that can be broken. The very place where we speak life into someone else, yet the place that rest forgiveness that steals life. The very place that houses and casts away fears. The devotional speaks on submitting our hearts to Christ and allowing Him to guard our hearts. What better security than God himself, but just like we do with our emails every once in a while maintenance is required, a heart check is required, what seems to be flowing from your Heart?

You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. ~Matthew 12:34

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. ~Luke 6:45.

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23  gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things. ~Galatians 5:22-23

Lets work on getting our Hearts Right Ladies!!

He Has A Plan for You

The newness of the year is still fresh and I’m sure most of us are still sorting and organizing all of the plans that we have set to accomplish before year end. Some of those goals we will accomplish, excel and achieve to the best of our ability however let’s face reality; others may be out of reach, seemingly difficult to complete or just not in HIS plan for our lives in this season.

This brings to mind one of my favorite passages of scripture

Jeremiah 29

The other day I was reading a daily devotional by Short Daily Devotions which discussed this passage of scripture and I thought what a perfect time to share with my Girlfriends. In this devotion the author reminds us that God has a plan for our lives, good, bad and indifferent, it is all a part of His plan. So often when failures or self-deemed missed opportunities come up we quickly say “It wasn’t meant to be” or “It just wasn’t my time.” What if we start looking at it from a different perspective? In the most difficult of situations, we have to remember He STILL has a plan and has our best interest at heart! Yes it may hurt, it might make you cry, but it’s all for the fulfillment of the plan He has already written for your life. But it doesn’t stop there. We must also remember to continue to seek HIS face in those difficult times to see what it is that He wants to teach us from this situation. Once it has been made clear to you, bless someone else that may be going through the same or similar situation. I made it through and guess what so can you! (Ask me how I know)

So I encourage you today to revisit that list of goals again, but this time do not look at them alone. Ask your Father in Heaven about that list. Find out what it is that HE has for you this year, not just solely what you have for you this year. And if you step outside of His will and do your own thing, it happens (be honest), once you realign yourself, accept that it did not work your way and focus on what He has laid before you. Be encouraged, continue to seek His face and submit to His will in EVERYTHING concerning your life, be a blessing to others (don’t be stingy!) and watch His plan (in due season) be unfolded before your eyes.

Peace & Blessings,
